Transport For London Installs Alu Star FuturLED 3 At Hogarth Roundabout
Motus Traffic, exclusive UK distributor of the Alu Star FuturLED 3 signal, recently installed 35 Alu Star LED based signals at Hogarth Roundabout, which is located on one of the largest arterial roads out of London en route to Heathrow Airport.
The Hogarth site is populated entirely with Alu Star FuturLED 3 signals. These signals were chosen by Transport For London because of the numerous benefits the LED's offer over the previously existing halogen based technology.
The innovative Alu Star is a new generation of FuturLED based traffic signals made of aluminium. The Alu Star housing has been combined with the FuturLED 3 modules to provide a revolutionary new looking signal head, specifically tailored to integrate into inner city and rural areas without reducing the basic function of recognisable signalling.
In the past few months, there has been a growing shift among Motus Traffic's customers to move to this more advanced type of LED traffic signalisation. "There is no comparison in the appearance between the Alu Star FuturLED 3 and halogen based signals," Gareth Heywood said. "There has been a lot of positive feedback from people who have seen the Hogarth site, and I think this will result in a positive change towards this new type of technology".
Over the past year, Motus Traffic has installed LED's at various sites throughout the UK, including Norwich, Cardiff and the M25 Sphere. Hogarth Roundabout is one of the largest single LED sites that Motus Traffic has completed in London.
